Thomas Waters McManus was born March 29, 1910 in New York.

 

He enlisted May 11, 1942 as a Private. He was quickly promoted to Tech Sergeant, and received an Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters in this assignment. He was commissioned as a Captain on July 22, 1943 and assigned to Battery B, 207th Field Artillery Battalion, a unit that used artillery weapons systems to deliver surface-to-surface long-range indirect fire. He was honorably discharged on January 20, 1946. 

 

McManus was married with a small child, when he died.

 

Captain Thomas McManus died November 20 1957 in Lake Zurich, and is interred at Evergreen Cemetery.
