Part-Time Customer Service Associate

The Barrington Area Library seeks a part-time Customer Service Associate to serve as the first point of contact at our service points, which may include some remote responsibilities. This means everything from greeting people with a smile as they enter our building to resolving account issues and helping users navigate Library resources. About the Department:
The Customer Service Department is responsible for facilitating customer account success and connecting users to resources across the Library.

About You:

  • You are dedicated to providing quality customer service to Library visitors and staff.

  • You have experience with Microsoft Office suite and feel comfortable learning new software.

Hours, Salary, and Benefits:
This position will have a varied schedule between 20-28 hours per week, including day, evening, and weekend shifts. Flexibility with scheduling is required of all Customer Service staff.

The salary is $16.30 per hour. This position includes participation in IMRF’s retirement plan, and earns vacation, sick, and holiday benefits.

At-Home Volunteer Opportunity: Seed Packing Project

Teens and adults: help us grow a popular new service! The Library is accepting volunteer applications for a Seed Packing project, to stock our Seed Library for the coming year. Volunteers will be given a kit to take home with instructions, a volunteer log, seeds, and envelopes. For this project, volunteers will measure seeds into small envelopes, so the ability to see and package small seeds is necessary.

Available dates: Present - February 1
Available hours: Any
