On December 12, 2024, the Library welcomed three community members to its tenth annual TEDxBarringtonAreaLibrary. The topic for 2024 was Nature Connection.
Guest speakers were Stephen Barten, DVM; Navraaz Kaur Basati, MA, Farmer, Forest Therapy Guide & Yogi; and Luke Dahlberg, Native Seed Program Manager, Citizens for Conservation.
Celebrating a big anniversary on February 22, 2025, was BALibrary Fandom Fest! This popular annual event began with Dr. Who, continued with Star Wars, and has now grown to embrace fandoms of all kinds. Hundreds of people flock to the Library, many in costume, to pose for photo ops with amazing characters; try their hand at crafts, drawing, and other creative skills; visit an Artist's Alley full of talented authors, illustrators, and many other types of artisans; play games and have FUN!
