Philip Brandin Brugge was born September 4, 1920 Lakewood, New York to Eric and Lily (Brandin) Brugge.

Brugge attended the Naval Academy and was promoted from Ensign to Lt. Commander during his World War II service from June 19, 1942 to April 1, 1947.

He married Olive Elfreda Saethre on June 14, 1949 in Cook, Minnesota.

Lieutenant Commander Brugge died June 22, 1980 in Park Ridge, and rests at Evergreen Cemetery with his wife.
