Russell Garwood Schulke was born September 16, 1946 in Louisville, KY to Russell C. and Helen (Garwood) Schulke.
A 1964 graduate of Barrington High School, Schulke was an athlete, participating in baseball, football, wrestling and track. He was also active in student government, serving on Student Council, Class Board, and Honor Council.
Schulke enlisted in the US Marine Corps on July 21, 1965, and was assigned to 4th Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment Battery K, where he received the Purple Heart Medal.
Sergeant Russell G. Schulke died November 3, 1968, and rests in Evergreen Cemetery.
