Leroy Arthur Landwer, Jr. was born August 26, 1927, in Lake Zurich to Leroy and Isabel Sutfin Landwer.
Landwer served in World War II in the U.S. Army from Dec 22, 1945 until his honorable discharge as a Private First Class on May 23, 1947.
In the 1950 census, he lived in Ela Township, employed as a tree surgeon for Illinois Highway Department, and was married to Eleanor, with one child. However, his Veteran headstone application was signed by “Louise Landwer” in 1973.
No additional documentation was discovered regarding his profession, marriage or children.
PFC LeRoy Landwer, Jr. died June 23, 1973, and was buried with his parents in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
