Robert G. Schneider was born January 12, 1924 in Queens, New York, to George T. and Marguerite Funk Schneider.

Schneider served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1948, and participated in establishing electronic and communication security on advance bases in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged in June, 1948 with the rank of Ensign.

After his discharge, Schneider attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and worked for Western Electric.

He married Kathleen T. Gannon on July 26, 1952 in Troy, New York; they raised 2 children.

Ensign Robert G. Schneider died September 5, 2007, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
