Ambrose Thomas Dixon, Jr. was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 23, 1906, to Ambrose and Eunice Tull Dixon.
He graduated in 1924 from Franklin & Marshall Academy, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
On March 21, 1925, Dixon married Ethel H. Green in Elkton, Maryland; they had no children.
His USN Reserve unit was activated for World War II, and Dixon was Inducted into U.S. Navy service on June 12, 1943. He was honorably discharged June 22, 1945 as a Storekeeper Third Class, responsible for managing and maintaining the ship or company’s supply stores, including procuring, receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, tools, and consumable items, as well as managing inventory and financial records.
Dixon spent his working years in retail sales management, and he was a Department Manager for Sears for 30 years.
SK3 Thomas Dixon, Jr. died on May 20, 1975 in Elgin, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
