Warren “Bud” Joadwine was born October 16, 1924 in Gilman, Illinois to Warren G. and Marion Morony Joadwine.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 27, 1943, and served during World War II in the D Battery of the 565th Coast Artillery Battalion, a part of the US Army's Coastal Artillery Corps, specializing in anti-aircraft defense. Joadwine was honorably discharged as a Corporal on March 15, 1946.

He graduated from Northern Illinois College of Optometry in 1949, and established his own practice in Chicago.

CPL Warren Joadwine, O. D. died after a short illness on June 8, 1954, at Hines VA Hospital, and is buried with his family in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
