Michael Edward Luby was born in Chicago, IL on August 1, 1938 to John and Marie Donohue Luby.
Born and raised on the West Side of Chicago Michael attended Saint Phillips High School and Roosevelt University where he earned a BS in Accounting.
Following his graduation, he was drafted by the Army and served two years.
After his military service, he went on to pursue his career in commercial real estate and mortgage banking where he became President and CEO of Republic Realty Mortgage in Chicago.
Luby married Rosemary Seraphine 1967; they raised four children in Palatine and Barrington.
Luby was an avid golfer and a member of Wynstone Golf Club; he was proud of his Irish heritage and loved the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed his daily crossword puzzle, gardening and cooking for weekly family Sunday dinner.
Veteran Michael Luby passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025, and is buried at Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
