Leonard Raymond Meller was born February 9, 1919 in Chicago to Leo and Bertha Eggert Meller.
Meller was working as a truck driver for Gold Star Motor Service when he enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 27, 1941. He was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant on November 10, 1945.
On August 1, 1942, he married Norma Lee Magill in Barrington; they raised two children there.
Meller worked as an Executive Sales Manager for Burcott Mills Textile Company of Chicago, and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ.
MSG Leonard Meller died December 15, 1980 in Elgin and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
