John Arthur Rushing was born on October 23, 1951, in Chicago to Roy and Marylynn Fischer Rushing.
Rushing served his country as a U.S. Marine from 1971 to 1973, earning an honorable discharge as a Lance Corporal during the Vietnam War.
On April 17, 1976, he married Dianna Wester in Barrington, and they raised two children.
Rushing worked alongside his father in the automotive business before pursuing his entrepreneurial passion. He established a successful business designing and selling patio furniture tailored for limited spaces, demonstrating his creativity and dedication.
Rushing’s love for family and community shone brightly in his life, and he delighted in bringing people together. His legacy of kindness, innovation, and love for those around him will continue to inspire all who knew him.
LCPL John Rushing passed away on December 10, 2024 and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
