Carl V. Arthur Weichelt was born in May 3, 1869 in Germany, to Volkmar and Lina Schmidt Weichelt.
The family of 8 immigrated to the United States in 1887, and settled in Chicago by 1900, where Weichelt was a physician.
On April 24, 1901, Weichelt married Hermine Kaestner in Chicago; they raised four children in Barrington.
Weichelt practiced medicine in Barrington from 1902 to 1932, and served in World War I as a First Lieutenant in the Medical Corps.
First Lieutenant Arthur Weichelt, M.D. died January 4, 1940 in a VA Hospital in North Chicago, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery with his wife.
