Steven Demosthenes Beligratis was born July 22, 1931 in Chicago to Demosthenes and Stavroula Karkazis Beligratis.
He was a graduate of Crane Technical High School in Chicago and the University of Chicago where he earned his Bachelor’s degree and his MBA.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1956, when he was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer.
On June 21, 1959, Beligratis married Matina Kutrubis in Chicago; they raised three children in Palatine.
He enjoyed a 39-year tenure at John Nuveen and Company, a municipal bond firm, becoming an Officer and Vice President of Research.
His Greek heritage was a source of great pride for him. Beligratis was fluent in Greek and traveled to Greece many times with his family.
PO Steve Beligratis died October 6, 2025, and is buried with family in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
