SP4 Kenneth J. MolaMola

Kenneth John Mola was born April 30, 1936 in Chicago, to John J. and Rose Moravec Mola.


Mola was raised in Berwyn. After graduating from Elmhurst University in 1957, he entered U.S. Army service where he was based in Fort Ord, California. At 6’2”, he was a standout player on his company’s basketball team. He continued his service with the Army Reserve, and was honorably discharged from the on October 31, 1963 at the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.


Mola met Emily Dircks at the Spiegel Catalog Company, and he married her in 1963; they raised two children in Barrington.


Professionally, Mola worked for Boise Cascade and other companies selling paper to printers and publishers, retiring after more than 30 years. 


His passion was musky fishing, and he landed nearly 400 legal-sized fish throughout the upper Midwest and Canada.


SP4 Ken Mola died November 28, 2025, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
