George Carl Kuhlman was born May 22, 1930 in Barrington, to George and Esther Meyer Kuhlman.
He graduated from Barrington High School and received an Engineering degree from the University of Illinois.
Kuhlman served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal on May 1, 1954.
Following his military service, he joined Sargent & Lundy in Chicago as a Mechanical Engineer, and advanced to become a Partner at the firm before his 1992 retirement.
He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Lou Beirau, in Palatine on August 4, 1956; they raised one child.
Kuhlman enjoyed playing golfing at his second home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
CPL George Kuhlman died October 7, 2002 in Inverness, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
