MSGT Elmer W. MackMack

Elmer W. Mack was born October 12, 1916 in Chicago to John and Elfrieda Reichwald Makowka.


He graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in 1935, and worked as a stock clerk until he entered the military.


During World War II, Mack served in the U.S. Army from April 14, 1941 until his honorable discharge as a Master Sergeant on December 22, 1945.


He married Eileen Moylen in 1942; they raised six children in Barrington.


Mack was an accountant with Putta and Kelsey, and later, Wenzel Jewelers.


He was a member of St. Anne Church, the Queen of Peace Council 3954, and Knights of Columbus.


MSGT Elmer Mack died November 3, 1983 in Park Ridge, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
