CPL Gerhard L. Schultz

Gerhard Ludwig Schultz was born on November 21, 1930, in Chicago to Adolf and Rosa Ellinger Schultz.
On Dec 29, 1950, Schultz married Sigrid Kaiser; they raised three children in Barrington.
Schultz served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he was attached to the 60th Battalion of the 32nd Anti-aircraft Brigade in Lakenheath, England. He continued his service in the USAR Reserves where he was honorably discharged as a Corporal on February 13, 1960.
Following active duty in the Army, he worked many years for Ickes-Braun Glasshouses, Inc. (IBG), a manufacturer of commercial skylights, domes, greenhouses and pool enclosures. Schultz rose to the position of President in 1966.
Schultz was a loving devoted husband and father. Described as steadfast and unwavering in his faith, he delighted in being “Grandad.”
CPL Gerhardt Schultz passed away on February 18, 2026, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
