CPL George E. Keubler

George Edward Kuebler was born October 3, 1895 in Chicago to Michael and Catherine Engbarth Kuebler. After his father died young, Keubler and his brother grew up in the Chicago Home for Boys. He served in the U.S. Army in World War I with the 4th Division, 5th Infantry from November 22, 1917 to April 9, 1919, when he was honorably discharged as a Corporal. On December 28, 1922, Keubler married Rosetta L. Kirschner of Barrington; they had two children before her death. His second wife was Mildred Rickey. Kuebler held various positions to earn his living - truck driver, security guard, and tavern proprietor - while living in Barrington, Lake Zurich, and Waukegan. CPL George Kuebler died May 24, 1950 at Downey VA Hospital, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery with his first wife.
