PFC James William Graham

James William Graham was born in West Plains, Missouri on November 2, 1931 to Oriel and Alice Cook Graham.
By 1940, the family was living in Chicago Heights, Before graduating in 1951, Graham played baseball and football all four years at Bloom High School, where he made the All-South Suburban team in both sports.
Graham served in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged as a Private First Class.
“Coach Bill” was the winningest football coach in the history of Barrington High School, as he led the Broncos to seven league championships during his career from 1964-1977.
He was described by his coaching peers as a tough competitor, a practical joker, and a warm human being. Opposing coaches were never confident in defending against his BHS team because he employed unexpected plays.
PFC Bill Graham died August 25, 1988, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
