Merle Reed Miller, Jr. was born November 24, 1931 in Chicago to Merle and May Knudsen Miller.
Miller was a Koran War Veteran of U.S. Air Force, serving from February 26, 1951 to February 25, 1955. He was stationed in Alaska, and was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class.
After his military service, Miller was self-employed as a flooring contractor. He was the father of three children.
A1C Merle Miller died August 16, 1991 in his Algonquin home, and is buried with family members in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
