James Arthur Walsh was born September 14, 1919 in Chicago to Bartley and Elizabeth Finnegan Walsh.

Walsh served in the U.S. Army during World War II from November 5, 1941 to October 21, 1945, and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.

On August 7, 1948, he married Lucille Trestick in Barrington, where they raised two children.

Walsh was an electrician by profession; he also served in the Barrington Fire Department for 25 years.

His was active in the community as a Charter Member of the Queen of Peace Council #3954 Knights of Columbus, a member of Barrington VFW Post #7706, and a board member of the Barrington Christopher Club.

SGT James Walsh died January 7, 1991 in Barrington, and is buried with his wife at Evergreen Cemetery.
