David Arthur Landa was born January 3, 1933 in Racine, Wisconsin to Arthur and Harriet DeGaris Landa.
After graduating from Horlick High School in Racine, Landa enlisted in the U.S. Navy on September 15, 1952. He served in the Korean War in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged as an Aviation Ordnanceman Second Class on July 27, 1956.
On September 26, 1953, he married Carole Jean Lamers in Racine; they raised four children in Barrington.
Landa was a salesman for CASCO of Elgin, a manufacturer of aluminum-clad wood windows, patio doors, storm products, vinyl windows, and custom porch enclosures. He was an accomplished golfer and a member of Turnberry Golf Club.
AO2 David Landa died on May 7, 1990 in Elgin, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
