Harold Richard Warman was born on October 22, 1923 in Alden, Iowa to Verner and Katherine Duncan Warman.
Warman enlisted on January 14, 1942 for World War II service in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was honorably discharged on March 13, 1946 as a Quartermaster Petty Officer 3rd Class. A QM3 serves as a vital bridge between the deck and the command by managing the safe navigation and operation of the cutter or vessel.
He was an alumnus of Northwestern University and a certified public accountant.
On December 4, 1948, he married Katherine Becker; they raised seven children. They were a socially and civically active couple in Arlington Heights, where Warman managed a Little League team. The family moved to Westwood, Massachusetts in 1964 for six years, before returning to live in Barrington.
QM3 Harold Warman died July 7, 1990 in Arlington Heights, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
