Walter William Schutt was born February 5, 1897 in Barrington to Theodore and Carolina Objartel Schutt.
Schutt served in the U.S. Navy during World War I until January 17, 1919, when he was honorably discharged as a Seaman Second Class.
He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1921 with a degree in Landscape Gardening. He was a member of Gamma Sigma Kappa there.
On July 29, 1922, Schutt married Eva Coussens in Chicago; they raised two children in River Forest and Leyden.
Schutt was a landscape architect and landscape engineer for the Cook County Forest Preserve District for 40 years, and the superintendent of Indian Boundary Forest Preserve Golf Course.
S2 Walter Schutt died January 14, 1993 in Woodstock. He is buried with his family in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
