Robert Bailey was born November 21, 1926 in Chicago to James and Dorothy Murnane Bailey.
Bailey served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Shirley Pichen on Apr 16, 1949 in Cary; they raised two children.
Bailey was employed by the Great Lakes Naval Training Center for 28 years and worked in the Electronics Supply Office and the Public Works Department there until his retirement in 1980.
He was a member of VFW Post #4308 in Lake Villa, and enjoyed bird-watching, oil painting, crafts and gardening.
Seaman Robert Bailey died April 25, 1999 in McHenry, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
