SSG Harold E. Baumann

Harold Emil Baumann was born November 20, 1922 in Walworth, Wisconsin to Walter and Anna Weiberg Baumann.
He graduated from Barrington High School in 1940.
Baumann was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in Africa and Italy from November 7, 1942 to December 5, 1945.
On March 27, 1948, he married Jennie Kotlaba in Barrington; they raised one child there.
Baumann was one of the first drivers for Steward Brothers Trucking Service and was a union steward for the Milk Drivers Union. He later became co-owner of Dairy Transport of Barrington. After the company was sold, he worked for Boncosky Transportation until his retirement in 1987.
He enjoyed woodworking, birds, fishing, gardening, and traveling in his motor home.
SSG Harold Baumann died July 17, 1997, and is buried with his wife in Evergreen Cemetery.
