Roy Leslie Hutchings was born February 27, 1922 in Argenta, Illinois, to Elza and Alberta Anderson Hutchings.
Hutchings graduated from Barrington High School in 1940, then joined his father’s staff as a barber, and was a barber for the next 54 years as owner of the Barrington Barber Shop.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from January 28, 1943 to his honorable discharge on Jan 29, 1946.
On October 21, 1950, he married Patricia Hoosen in Barrington; they raised two children there.
He was a member of Barrington VFW Post #7706, and enjoyed camping and his grandson’s hockey games.
C2C Roy Hutchings died April 28, 1997 in Barrington Hills, and is buried with his wife in Evergreen Cemetery.
